Our Principal
His tale is of a child of farmers.
The picture was taken on his most recent trip to the family farm of just over 100 years, the summer of 2019, a year of extreme drought. The farm is in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa, where necessary infrastructure such as electricity, phone, and internet access is absent. The picture shows his dad at the age of 83 on horseback covering the one side and my mother at the age of 80 with a border collie covering the other side.
His parents are strong role models who instilled empathy, dedication, trust, and a strong work ethic. He is continuously putting into practice the principles of goal setting, cooperation, decision making, and follow-through.
He took his first steps into the digital transformation world in 1985, when he sold his much loved 1981 model Ford Cortina Truck – a gift from his parents – and bought his first computer an IBM Personal Computer 5150 with a hefty price tag of $1,565. He managed to leverage the technology delivering a bureau service to his clients - 50 farmers - to do more and do better with the same scares resources.
